I chose this article because it addresses the common humanity from Kristen Neff's speech and uses healthcare workers to explain the benefits of common humanity and compassion. The article brought up four commonalities of the guests that the staff noticed "common bonds; people have the same needs; no one wants to suffer; seeing strangers helping others is motivating." Resulting in the workers themselves developed feelings of care, concern, and compassion". Since my Dad is a doctor, I learned at a early age that the healthcare system is a diverse group of people of all backgrounds and age, so addressing common humanity in healthcare is a great way widen my own perspective on the similarities between us all.

Three Take Aways:

- Common bonds between us

- Seeing people helping one another is motivating

- Developing care concern and compassion
